Hatch in Katowice is seeking a Senior/Mechanical Engineer/Designer to join the Engineering team on-site. The role covers project scope definition, analysis, and documentation, with collaboration across disciplines and global clients.

Responsibilities include design, calculations, 3D/2D drafting, and cost/schedule input. Requires 5+ years’ experience, professional registration or progress toward it, and fluency in English and Polish.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of project engineering experience.
• Registration as a professional engineer or candidate actively progressing toward registration.
• Ability to communicate in English and Polish.
• Familiar with industry standards, regulations and codes for mechanical engineering.
• Able to coordinate mechanical activities across multiple disciplines.
• Safety conscious with global project experience.

Responsibilities

• Define project scope and deliver monthly engineering status reports.
• Assist Engineering Manager with scope, cost, and schedule delivery.
• Perform system analyses and define design criteria and layouts.
• Prepare hydraulic modelling, stress analysis, and equipment sizing.
• Create data sheets and technical memos; contribute to 3D/2D drawings.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to cost estimates.
• Assist in proposals, stamp documents if registered, manage small projects.
• Review technical work from junior staff; supervise on-site activities as needed.
• Support commissioning and on-site system startup as required.

We are looking currently for Senior/Mechanical Engineer/Designer to join our Engineering team in Katowice (on-site).

• Assist in defining project scope and in the compilation and delivery of monthly engineering status reports
• Assist the Engineering Manager/Lead Mechanical Engineer with the delivery of the project requirements as they relate to scope, cost and schedule
• Perform system analyses, establish user requirements, analyze system functional and performance requirements, define design criteria, and establish system layouts and designs
• Prepare engineering calculations such as hydraulic modelling, stress analysis, equipment sizing and tank, pressure vessel and bin design and ensuring that all analyses satisfy user and system requirements
• Prepare technical specifications based on input received from other disciplines
• Conduct interface management between related systems
• Prepare data sheets based on input received from other disciplines
• Prepare and contribute to technical memos and reports, within areas of expertise
• Provide input to engineering, operating and capital cost estimates
• Prepare and/or review project standard specifications and design criteria
• Prepare or provide input to 3D models and 2D mechanical drawings
• Participate in and contribute to design reviews
• Carry out assigned tasks within budget and schedule, assist in preparing proposals
• Stamp documents and drawings as required and if appropriately registered
• Manage small capital and maintenance projects
• Review and evaluate technical work prepared by junior engineers, intermediate engineers, designers, technicians and technologists
• Construction supervision and management dependent upon project demands
• Assist in the commissioning of systems on site as required.

Your background:

• B.Sc./B.Eng., M.Sc. or M.Eng. in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Registration as a professional engineer. Alternatively, registration as a candidate professional engineer actively working towards professional registration.
• Minimum five years of project engineering experience.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English and Polish
• Good communication, planning and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to function with minimal supervision.
• Working knowledge of industry standards, regulations and codes pertinent to the mechanical engineering discipline.
• Ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team and coordinate mechanical activities between disciplines.
