Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead a commercial team on education framework projects in London and the south east. You will drive financial performance, mentor the team, and influence commercial strategy across projects.

The role requires extensive QS experience, strong leadership, and solid knowledge of contract forms and procurement. Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management are essential. Professional membership (RICS) is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in quantity surveying and commercial management on major projects.
• Strong leadership experience, including managing and developing commercial teams.
• In-depth knowledge of standard forms of contract and construction commercial processes.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of major projects or a portfolio of schemes, ensuring financial success.
• Oversee cost planning, forecasting, valuations, variations, and final account negotiations.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to the commercial team, supporting development and performance.
• Drive procurement strategy and subcontractor management to achieve best value and risk mitigation.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders to influence commercial strategy and project outcomes.
• Professional membership (e.g. RICS) is highly desirable.
