Philip Morris International in Kraków is seeking a senior Data Governance Lead to define ownership, develop governance policies, and drive data quality across the organization. The role requires coordinating with data owners and regional teams to ensure compliant, scalable data practices.

The position offers a hybrid work model, strong emphasis on data stewardship, and opportunities to shape how data supports strategic decisions within a smoke-free future framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in Data Governance and Data Management disciplines.
• Strong SQL, metadata management, and data modeling knowledge.
• Ability to design enterprise-wide governance frameworks with policies and standards.
• Experience leading governance initiatives with cross-functional teams.
• Solid knowledge of GDPR and regulatory standards and their practical application.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

What You’ll Do

• Define and implement data ownership, stewardship roles, and governance frameworks across key data domains
• Develop and maintain data governance, data quality, and data lifecycle policies, including catalogs, processes, and standards
• Establish governance metrics, reporting mechanisms, and continuous data quality improvement initiatives
• Ensure protection of sensitive data and compliance with regulatory and industry requirements
• Drive AI data readiness initiatives and promote effective data management practices across regions
• Partner with D&A teams, data owners, stewards, and business stakeholders to align governance with strategic objectives
• Integrate data governance requirements into business processes and manage dependencies across the data lifecycle
• Promote a data-driven culture by providing governance training, support, and stakeholder engagement

Skills & Capabilities

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Min 5-8 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management disciplines, Data Architecture, and data quality management
• Strong understanding of SQL, metadata management, data modeling, master/reference data, and automation solutions
• Ability to design and implement enterprise-wide data governance frameworks, including policies, standards, and procedures
• Experience leading data governance initiatives and collaborating with data owners, stewards, subject matter experts, and cross-functional global teams
• Solid knowledge of data-related regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, compliance requirements) and their practical application
• Strong understanding of business processes, data platforms, databases, storage solutions, and data governance technologies
• Excellent communication, change management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive adoption and engage diverse stakeholders
