Job summary

Atos is seeking a Senior Mainframe CICS/MQ Administrator to join our Mainframe Operations team. You will administer, maintain, and optimize IBM CICS and MQ on z/OS, ensuring high availability and performance for mission-critical online systems.

This role requires 8+ years of hands-on mainframe experience, strong knowledge of CICS and MQ, and proficiency with mainframe performance tools. You will contribute to incident management, change execution, and 24/7 on-call support.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience as a Mainframe Systems Programmer for CICS and MQ on z/OS.
• Extensive experience with mainframe performance monitors (e.g., BMC AMI Ops, CA Sysview).
• Strong understanding of CICS and MQ architectural concepts.
• Change and Incident Management processes.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain CICS TS and MQ subsystems on z/OS. Manage PTF applications, release upgrades, and lifecycle maintenance for both and related third-party software.
• Design, implement, and support CICS and MQ environments, to ensure continuous availability.
• Creation and customization of new CICS regions tailored to business requirements.
• Customization, proactive monitoring, and advanced troubleshooting of the CICS and MQ environments.
• Deep-dive analysis of system dumps and traces to identify root causes.
• Analyzing and enhancing the performance and stability of the CICS and MQ environments.
• Plan, script, and execute disaster recovery (DR) procedures for CICS and MQ environments, participating in regular DR testing.
• Provide rotational 24/7 on-call support for critical production systems.
• Prepare technical documentation.

We are looking for aSenior Mainframe CICS/MQ Administrator to join our Mainframe Operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, support, and optimization of IBM CICS and MQ environments running on IBM z/OS platforms. The role focuses on ensuring high availability, stability, security, and performance of mission-critical online transaction processing systems while supporting customers and internal delivery teams. The position requires participation in incident management, change implementation and continuous service improvement activities.
