Job summary

Luxoft Poland is seeking an experienced Linux Platform Engineer to own troubleshooting and development across Linux-based embedded devices, including cameras and peripherals. You will be the escalation point for complex customer issues, drive root-cause analysis, and contribute to platform improvements.

You will work with a team of engineers on end-to-end system design, kernel and userspace optimization, and proactive enhancements for enterprise customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience with Linux based embedded platforms.
• Deep knowledge of Linux platform internals: kernel, systemd, device drivers, IPC (D-Bus, gRPC, ZeroMQ, Unix sockets).
• Proficient in C, C++ (C++17), Python, and shell scripting; read and debug code across system layers.
• Broad knowledge of Linux system stack: kernel internals, device drivers, networking subsystems, userspace frameworks.
• Skilled with debugging tools: strace, ltrace, gdb, perf, ftrace, tcpdump/Wireshark, journalctl.
• Basic TLS and networking concepts understanding.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders; comfortable with enterprise customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in the design and development of our next generation products.
• Collaborate with software engineers to translate system architecture into software components.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical feedback on interfaces.
• Serve as primary engineering escalation point for complex Linux-based issues; perform deep triage and root cause analysis.
• Develop fixes, workarounds, and patches; coordinate with platform teams for mainline integration.
• Create diagnostic tools, scripts, and documentation to improve troubleshooting efficiency.
• Drive PoC development and feature work based on real customer feedback.
• Analyze device telemetry to identify patterns and propose systemic improvements.
• Build and maintain knowledge bases and escalation procedures for faster resolutions.
