Job summary

Luxoft is seeking an embedded Linux software engineer to design middleware, platform libraries, and system services for embedded platforms. You will optimize IPC and resource use, debug across middleware, OS and hardware layers, and work with firmware, cloud, and application teams to define interfaces and evolution of platform APIs.

The role requires strong C/C++ for embedded systems, deep Linux internals knowledge, and a solid understanding of hardware/software interaction.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in C and C++ for embedded/systems development.
• Strong experience with Linux internals (system services, IPC, device drivers, kernel/user space).
• Understanding of embedded architecture, SoC components and hardware/software interaction.
• Scripting in Bash/Python for build, automation, testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop middleware components, platform libraries, and system services for embedded Linux platforms.
• Optimize IPC, data flow, and resource utilization to improve performance.
• Analyze and resolve system-level bottlenecks to ensure reliability and scalability.
• Collaborate with firmware, cloud, and application teams to define interfaces and APIs.
• Implement and maintain platform-level features like logging, security frameworks, and config management.
• Debug complex system issues across middleware, OS, and hardware layers.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and guide platform evolution.
