Qualifications

• 5+ years of QA automation engineering experience.
• Proficiency in BDD (Behavior-Driven Development).
• Java SE 8+ experience.
• Experience with Selenium and Cucumber.
• Knowledge of code coverage with JaCoCo.
• Ability to work with legacy codebases and modern practices.
• Fluency in English (B2+).

Responsibilities

• Create, execute, and maintain automated test code and test cases.

Job description

We are seeking a Senior/Lead QA Automation Engineer in Java to design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts that ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications. This role involves close collaboration with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams to define test strategies, implement continuous testing in CI/CD pipelines, and identify defects early in the development lifecycle. The engineer will ensure comprehensive test coverage across functional, regression, integration, and performance scenarios, while promoting best practices in test automation and quality engineering within a Scrum and Agile environment.

Please note that working from the office 3 days per week is required.

Responsibilities

• Create, execute, and maintain automated test code and test cases to validate software functionality and performance
• Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline in collaboration with DevOps and development teams to ensure rapid and reliable software releases
• Identify, document, and track software defects using appropriate tracking tools, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues
• Conduct performance and load testing to ensure applications meet performance benchmarks and can handle expected traffic and usage
• Participate actively in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle, from requirements gathering to design, development, testing, and deployment, to build quality into the product from the ground up
• Provide quality assurance insights and feedback during requirements and design reviews to identify potential issues early and ensure testability
• Define and track quality metrics, and generate reports to communicate test progress, issues, and risks to stakeholders

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in QA automation engineering
• Proficiency in BDD (Behavior-Driven Development)
• Knowledge of Java SE (minimum version 8)
• Experience with Maven, JUnit, and AssertJ
• Experience with Selenium and Cucumber
• Familiarity with JaCoCo for code coverage
• Capability to work on and improve older code bases, as well as apply modern best practices to new projects
• Flexibility to work with and contribute to teams with different skill sets
• Proactive mindset, comfortable working in dynamic environments with fast-paced deliveries and changing requirements
• Readiness to work in the office (3 days per week is a must)
• Fluency in English (B2+)
• Nice to have Experience with Azure Cosmos DB SDK and Azure Blob Storage SDK
• Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD
