Job summary

Link Group is seeking an experienced Test Automation Engineer to improve and modernise an existing test automation landscape. The role focuses on reducing test execution time, increasing release confidence, and supporting migration of test pipelines to GitHub Actions.

This hands-on role requires deep knowledge of test automation at scale, collaboration with backend/platform teams, and the use of AI tools to identify gaps, troubleshoot issues, and speed up engineering work.

Qualifications

• Strong Selenium experience and modern test automation practices.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Groovy for test development.
• Hands-on automation QA with backend-oriented testing background.
• Experience with Serenity BDD, Cucumber, JUnit, and Allure.
• Familiarity with GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelines.
• Basic Kubernetes knowledge and willingness to use AI tools for analysis.

Responsibilities

• Refactor and improve the existing load testing suite to reduce runtime.
• Enhance test performance and reliability for faster deployments.
• Migrate remaining test suites from Jenkins to GitHub Actions.
• Increase automated test stability and maintain GUI regression coverage.
• Analyze failures, identify gaps, and propose automation improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve testability and feedback loops.
• Leverage AI tools to support analysis, gap detection, and troubleshooting.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer / Automation Quality Engineer to improve and modernise an existing test automation landscape. The role is focused on reducing test execution time, increasing release confidence, improving GUI regression coverage, and supporting the migration of test pipelines to GitHub Actions. This is a hands‑on role for someone who understands test automation at scale, can work close to backend/platform teams, and is comfortable using AI tools to identify gaps, troubleshoot issues, and speed up engineering work.

Key responsibilities

• Refactor and improve the existing load testing suite, with the goal of reducing test execution time from around 16 hours to under 4 hours.
• Improve test performance and reliability to support faster deployments and shorter time to market.
• Migrate remaining test suites from Jenkins to GitHub Actions.
• Improve release confidence by making automated test execution more reliable and maintainable.
• Enhance the GUI regression test suite to reduce change failure rate.
• Analyse test failures, identify gaps in coverage, and propose improvements to the automation strategy.
• Work with engineering teams to improve testability, stability, and feedback loops.
• Use AI tools to support test analysis, gap detection, troubleshooting, and automation improvements.

Must‑have skills

• Strong experience with Selenium.
• Strong experience with Java and/or Groovy.
• Experience in automation quality engineering or backend-oriented test automation.
• Practical experience with test automation frameworks and tools such as: Serenity BDD Cucumber JUnit Allure.
• Experience with GitHub Actions or strong willingness to work with it.
• Basic understanding of Kubernetes.
• Strong willingness and ability to use AI tools in daily work, especially for identifying issues, gaps, and improvement areas.

Nice to have

• Experience migrating pipelines from Jenkins to GitHub Actions.
• Experience with load testing or performance‑focused test suites.
• Experience with Java WebSocket testing.
• Backend engineering background or ability to troubleshoot close to application code.
• Experience improving large, slow, or unstable test suites.
