Job summary

Svitla Systems is seeking a Senior Java Backend Engineer for a full-time contract in Poland. You will join a backend team building scalable microservices with Spring Boot, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native tech. Hybrid work in Kraków (1–3 days in the office).

Contract ends Feb 2027 with possible extension. You will influence technical direction and deliver valuable features. Expect collaboration across teams, responsibility for design and implementation, and a strong testing

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer within the JVM ecosystem.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Ability to translate business problems into technical strategies, high-level designs, and implementation plans, and lead their execution within the team.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence both technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement robust backend services using Spring Boot and modern Java frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable microservices.
• Design and implement efficient data management solutions.
• Leverage event-driven architecture and Kafka for real-time data processing.
• Implement comprehensive testing strategies using JUnit 5, AssertJ, Mockito, and other industry-standard tools.
• Shape project direction, clarify requirements, and develop effective solutions.
• Apply design patterns to improve code quality, maintainability, and scalability.
• Contribute to technical and architectural decisions and continuously improve backend services.
