Job summary

Verisk in Kraków is seeking an experienced backend engineer to design and build secure, scalable APIs using Java (Spring Boot) and Go. You will own features end-to-end, integrate external systems, and automate regulatory workflows while collaborating with clients and frontend teams.

You'll work with Docker, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and databases like PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis, and MongoDB. Hybrid work model in Kraków supports growth with AI-assisted development and mentoring responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend software engineering experience, ideally developing enterprise-grade SaaS products.
• Strong proficiency in Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Relational databases experience (PostgreSQL/MySQL): design, queries, transactions.
• Practical experience with Docker and CI/CD practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills translating requirements into software.
• Excellent communication and ability to work with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and build secure, scalable RESTful APIs using Java (Spring Boot) and Go.
• Own features end-to-end from requirements to production deployment.
• Integrate external APIs and data pipelines with frontend teams.
• Automate regulatory workflows with rule engines and data validation.
• Collaborate with clients through technical discovery, workshops, and demos.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools and integrate AI capabilities for document understanding.
• Modernize legacy systems and improve CI/CD and deployment processes.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and uphold engineering standards.
