Job summary

GFT Poland is seeking a Senior Java Consultant to help drive digital transformation in large-scale financial platforms. You will design backend services with Java 17+, build microservices, and integrate PostgreSQL and Kafka while leveraging Azure, Kubernetes, and Terraform in a hybrid Kraków-based role.

You’ll work on cloud-native architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and AI tooling within a regulated environment, collaborating with stakeholders to modernize applications and automate processes.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3+
• Experience with microservices-based architectures
• Good knowledge of PostgreSQL
• Experience with Kafka
• Strong knowledge of Azure services
• Experience with Terraform
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with Databricks
• Practical experience with AI engineering tools including GHCP CLI
• Understanding of Generative AI concepts and frontier models
• Domain knowledge of Stock Borrow Loan business
• Experience with JUnit 5, Mockito, Testcontainers or similar testing frameworks
• Understanding of structured context in codebases such as AGENTS.md and skills
• Experience with Helm
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines
• Openness to work hybrid from our client’s office (Kraków) 3 days a week

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services using Java and Spring Boot
• Build and maintain microservices-based solutions
• Develop and optimize integrations with PostgreSQL and Kafka
• Design and manage cloud-native solutions on Azure
• Implement and maintain Kubernetes and Terraform infrastructure
• Create and improve CI/CD pipelines in GitLab
• Develop automated tests and ensure software quality
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders
• Support application modernization and process automation initiatives
