Job summary

SoftServe is seeking a Backend Engineer to join the European Commission’s eGrants ecosystem, building Java services, APIs, and business logic for calls, proposals, grants, and audits. You will contribute to security, performance, testing, CI/CD, and mentoring within a global team.

The role emphasizes Spring Boot, Hibernate, WebLogic, Kafka, and database design across SQL and NoSQL systems, plus OpenAPI, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java backend technologies and distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases and NoSQL databases.
• REST APIs and OpenAPI/Swagger proficiency.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tooling.
• Familiarity with cloud services and container orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and related technologies.
• Build scalable services, APIs, and integrations; mentor team members.
