Job summary

Vertex Agility in Cracow, Poland is seeking a Senior Automation Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy and maintain automation across enterprise IT environments. You will implement IaC, build secure CI/CD pipelines and automate OS and database lifecycle activities.

The role emphasizes consistency, security, auditability and rapid delivery across development and production platforms. Candidates should have strong Terraform and Ansible experience, Linux administration, and excellent scripting

Qualifications

• Degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in infrastructure engineering, automation or DevOps.
• Hands-on IaC experience in enterprise environments.
• Experience with Ansible and Terraform.
• CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform changes.
• Strong Python, Bash, PowerShell scripting.
• Linux server administration in dev/prod environments.
• Git workflows and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain IaC for enterprise infra using Terraform, Ansible, or equivalents.
• Automate provisioning and configuration of compute, storage, network, OS and DB infra.
• Create reusable modules and templates to standardise delivery.
• Automate OS and database lifecycle activities including patching and hardening.
• Design and operate secure CI/CD pipelines for infra and platform changes.
• Develop Pipeline as Code with quality gates and change traceability.
• Integrate infra automation with application delivery pipelines.
• Ensure security controls, audit trails and secrets management.
• Collaborate with OS, DB and platform teams to automate platform operations.
• Administer and secure Linux servers in dev and prod.
• Troubleshoot complex infra and automation issues.
• Define monitoring and dashboards for availability and performance.
• Participate in incident management and on-call rotations.
• Maintain documentation and SOPs.
• Promote engineering best practices across teams.
• Identify automation opportunities and process improvements.
