Job summary

Cosma International is seeking an experienced engineer to design, optimize, and validate high-pressure die casting tooling for automotive applications. You will drive tooling performance, implement GD&T standards, and collaborate with global teams to improve efficiency, yield, and quality across multiple plants.

Responsibilities include process improvements, DFMEA/PFMEA integration, and supporting customers with technical specifications and manufacturing requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Metallurgical Engineering or related field.
• Several years of High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) experience in automotive.
• Strong GD&T, DFMEA/PFMEA knowledge and risk-based engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize high-pressure die casting tooling, including gating, runner, cooling, vacuum, sealing, and trim systems to achieve high quality and yield.
• Develop die seal concepts and vacuum systems to maximize performance and minimize leakage.
• Design and validate cooling systems for thermal balance, dimensional stability, and cycle times.
• Lead tooling and process improvements across global casting operations and standardize GD&T and tolerance requirements.
• Analyze thermal imaging, casting data, and tooling performance to identify optimization opportunities.
• Apply FMEA methodologies to ensure successful launches and first-time-pass objectives.
• Collaborate with simulation and manufacturing teams to correlate results with trials and optimize casting performance.
• Support customer discussions on designs, specs, and manufacturing requirements.
