Job summary

Magna Cosma International in Poland is seeking an experienced tooling engineer focused on aluminum die casting to design, optimize, and maintain high‑quality tooling and processes.

You will work across global casting operations, apply DFMEA/PFMEA, GD&T, and CAD tools (AutoCAD, NX, Spinfire) to improve cycle times, reduce costs, and ensure first time quality. International travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• Multiple years of experience in aluminum casting, including HPDC.
• Strong knowledge of die cast tooling design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with die design, runner systems, cooling systems, and vacuum technologies.
• Ability to assess manufacturing feasibility from engineering drawings and assemblies.
• Hands-on experience in process optimization and troubleshooting in manufacturing.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software: AutoCAD, NX, Spinfire.
• Knowledge of HPDC, GD&T, die cast gating & runner design, DFM, VE, DFMEA/PFMEA.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize die cast tooling to improve quality, productivity, and yield.
• Develop tooling improvements including hydraulic cores, slides, and jet-cooled cores.
• Design cooling and vacuum solutions for optimal cycle times and process stability.
• Provide technical support to global casting operations and reduce tooling costs.
• Develop and maintain global tooling standards to enhance performance.
• Analyze tooling thermal and dimensional performance and implement corrective actions.
• Apply DFM to evaluate casting feasibility during development.
• Use FMEA/Risk Assessments and lessons learned to support launches and FTP objectives.
• Collaborate with casting divisions to align simulations with trials for improvements.
• Work with suppliers to optimize tooling concepts, costs, and lead times.
• Utilize CAD/engineering software to standardize analyses and design methodologies.
• Coordinate with customers and stakeholders to meet quality, productivity, cost, and delivery targets.
• Manage CAD data systems and document lessons learned across operations.
• Drive benchmarking and best practices across global facilities.
• Support VA/VE, tooling design, and downstream feasibility in new product/process development.
