Job summary

Voodoo is building Castle Busters, a turn-based multiplayer game, and seeks a senior backend engineer to move game logic from client to server and harden the server-side foundation. You will design APIs, implement server validation for metagame features, and collaborate with client engineers and game designers to deliver a scalable backend in Golang.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals.
• Fluency in Golang with at least 1 year in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the server-side foundation for Castle Busters, moving from client-authoritative to server-validated.
• Collaborate with client developers and game designers from design through delivery, validation and iteration.
• Create APIs and manage player-state with Unity client integration.
• Implement server-side validation for metagame features like currency, upgrades, and progression.
• Shift game logic from client to server to enable competitive PvP.
