blau direkt GmbH & Co. KG is seeking an experienced Senior Golang Engineer to build and scale our AI platform. You will own backend services, APIs, and platform capabilities powering AI workflows while collaborating on user-facing applications when needed.

The role emphasizes production-ready Go development, strong architectural skills, and practical AI experience. You will drive projects from concept to production with a pragmatic approach and ownership mindset.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial experience in software engineering.
• Strong backend development experience with Go.
• Production-ready backend/platform systems experience.
• Solid understanding of software architecture and system design.
• Experience building highly scalable, available systems.
• Hands-on observability: metrics, logs, tracing, alerting.
• Experience with Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Practical experience with AI tools, LLM APIs, or AI-driven workflows.
• Proficiency with modern AI tools such as Cursor or Claude.
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives from concept to production.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills.
• High ownership and proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable backend services and platform components in Go.
• Build APIs and integrations between internal services, AI models, and external systems.
• Develop AI-powered workflows and agent-based solutions.
• Contribute to AI solution architecture and drive implementation with the engineering team.
• Design systems with clear failure modes, observability, and debuggability.
• Evaluate and optimize latency, reliability, and cost for production AI features.
• Monitor and improve the quality and reliability of AI-powered features.
• Lead technical initiatives from design through production operations.
• Write maintainable, well-tested Go code and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, and other engineers for short feedback loops.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and adopt when value is shown.
• Support development of user-facing apps alongside the wider team.
