Job summary

Inuits is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain backend services behind a cloud-based Quality Management System for Life Sciences clients. You will work autonomously within a small team, apply domain-driven design, and own services end-to-end.

The role emphasizes Go, microservices, REST APIs, and CI/CD, with a strong focus on testing, scalability, and AI-assisted development to improve processes and compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on backend software development experience.
• Commercial experience with Go, or Go together with strong Python or TypeScript skills.
• Solid understanding of Domain-Driven Design and microservice architecture.
• Strong experience designing and implementing REST APIs, with GraphQL or gRPC as a plus.
• Experience with Kafka, MQTT or SQS, and a good understanding of message bus concepts.
• Understanding of UI/backend decoupling patterns and frontend patterns like MVVM/MVI.
• Experience with SQL databases and at least one NoSQL store.
• Hands-on Docker and Kubernetes experience, and cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and monitoring.
• Daily use of AI tools in development.
• Very good written and spoken English.
• Valid EU work permit.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend services with robust REST APIs.
• Apply Domain-Driven Design and microservice patterns to keep services loosely coupled.
• Write unit and integration tests to keep services reliable in a regulated environment.
• Look after services across their full lifecycle, including CI/CD, monitoring, diagnostics and maintenance.
• Collaborate with UI developers, product managers, DevOps and other engineers to deliver complete features.
• Support junior developers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Help the team get the most out of AI-assisted development.
