Job summary

Inuits Sp. z o.o. is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build and maintain the backend services behind a cloud-based Quality Management System used by Life Sciences companies.

The role suits an experienced engineer who works independently and embraces AI tools in daily development. You will join a scrum team or small pod, use Go as the primary backend language, collaborate with UI, product, and DevOps, and ensure robust REST APIs, testing, CI/CD, and secure coding across cloud

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on backend development experience.
• Proficient with Go; Python or TypeScript acceptable with web/testing frameworks.
• Solid knowledge of domain-driven design and microservice architecture.
• Experience designing REST APIs; GraphQL or gRPC a plus.
• Experience with messaging: Kafka, MQTT or SQS.
• Familiar with CQRS or BFF and MVVM/MVI frontend patterns.
• Experience with SQL databases and at least one NoSQL store.
• Hands-on Docker and Docker Compose; basic Kubernetes; cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or GitLab CI) and observability (logging, tracing).
• Strong unit/integration tests, mocking strategies, secure coding.
• Daily use of AI tools in development workflows.
• Excellent written and spoken English; EU work permit.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend services with REST APIs.
• Apply DDD and microservice principles to keep services decoupled.
• Write unit and integration tests for a regulated environment.
• Maintain CI/CD, monitoring, diagnostics, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with UI, product, DevOps and other engineers to deliver features.
• Mentor juniors through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Leverage AI-assisted development to enhance the team output.

Job description

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build and maintain the backend services behind a cloud-based Quality Management System used by Life Sciences companies. This role is suited for a mature, experienced engineer who is comfortable working independently, makes sound technical decisions without close supervision, and uses AI tools as a natural part of daily development.

About the Project:

Our client is a fully remote SaaS company building a pre-validated Quality Management System for the Life Sciences industry. Their customers make life-saving and life-enhancing products, and the platform helps them manage quality, processes and products while staying compliant with regulatory requirements. You will join a scrum team or a small pod of 2-3 developers, working closely with UI developers, product managers, DevOps engineers and other team leads across several time zones. Go is the team's target backend language.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build scalable backend services with robust REST APIs;
• Apply Domain-Driven Design and microservice patterns to keep services loosely coupled and aligned with business domains;
• Write unit and integration tests to keep services reliable in a regulated environment;
• Look after services across their full lifecycle, including CI/CD, monitoring, diagnostics and maintenance;
• Collaborate with UI developers, product managers, DevOps and other engineers to deliver complete features;
• Support junior developers through code reviews and knowledge sharing;
• Help the team get the most out of AI-assisted development.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands‑on backend software development experience;
• Commercial experience with Go, or some Go knowledge combined with strong Python or TypeScript skills and their web and testing frameworks;
• Solid understanding of Domain-Driven Design and microservice architecture;
• Strong experience designing and implementing REST APIs, with GraphQL or gRPC experience as a plus;
• Experience with Kafka, MQTT or SQS, and a good understanding of message bus and queue concepts;
• Understanding of UI/backend decoupling patterns such as CQRS or BFF, and of frontend patterns like MVVM/MVI;
• Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL or similar) and at least one NoSQL store (MongoDB, Elasticsearch or similar);
• Hands‑on Docker and Docker Compose experience, familiarity with basic Kubernetes concepts, and experience with AWS, Azure or GCP;
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or similar) and with logging, distributed tracing and monitoring;
• Strong unit and integration testing skills, including mocking strategies and secure, failsafe coding practices;
• Daily use of AI tools as part of your development workflow;
• Very good written and spoken English;
• Valid EU work permit.
