Job summary

Mettler Toledo AG in Poland seeks an IT Infrastructure Engineer to operate, support and improve Linux-based infrastructure with a global scope. You will join an international team of engineers and contribute to optimize services continuously.

Responsibilities include provisioning, patching, upgrades, troubleshooting, ensuring high availability, security, and performance of Linux systems, and developing automation for admin tasks. On-call rotations and technical documentation are part of the role.

Qualifications

Expert for Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Rocky Linux, and Debian servers hosted on VMware.
Experience with server provisioning, configuration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of the full Linux server lifecycle: deployment, maintenance, refreshing, and decommissioning.
Ability to ensure high availability, security, and performance of Linux-based services.
Experience with incident resolution and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

Act as a subject matter expert for Linux distributions and VMware infrastructure.
Perform server provisioning, configuration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
Manage the complete Linux server lifecycle from deployment to decommissioning.
Ensure high availability, stability, performance and security of Linux services.
Monitor health, performance, capacity, and availability across the Linux environment.
Investigate incidents, resolve alerts, and perform root cause analysis.
Design, develop and maintain automation for system administration tasks.
Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities and insecure configurations.
Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and capacity planning.
Provide 2nd level operational support and participate in on-call rotations.
