Job summary

Alcon Warsaw is seeking a GL accountant (Sr. Associate I, Accounting & Reporting) to apply accounting principles, analyze financial information, and prepare reports. The role reports to the GL Manager at the AGS Warsaw center and involves monthly reconciliations, journal entries, and ensuring IFRS/AMA compliance.

The ideal candidate has about 2 years of GL experience, strong English, and a proactive, process-improvement mindset capable of meeting strict deadlines.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting and/or Finance or equivalent experience.
• About 2 years of GL experience.
• Experience with shared services is preferred.
• Very good command of English.
• Ability to apply accounting practices.
• Very good analytical skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work in strict deadlines.
• Positive attitude with focus on continuous process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Drives proactively with functional areas to ensure accurate accounting and financial reporting within deadlines.
• Prepare balanced monthly balance sheet analyses and reconciliations.
• Prepare accurate journal entries in a timely manner.
• Ensure revenue recognition complies with IFRS/AMA.
• Collaborate with Finance colleagues and Regional Financial Reporting.
• Understand GL impact from inter-departmental transactions.
