Job summary

Jeppesen ForeFlight is seeking an experienced German statutory accounting lead to own the close process for the German entity and ensure compliant reporting under HGB, including Jahresabschluss and notes.

You will partner with Wirtschaftsprüfer and external tax advisers, reconciling US GAAP with German statements and guiding the finance team on complex regulatory changes. Fluency in German and English is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with German statutory reporting.
• Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and Jahresabschluss.
• Experience with German statutory audits (Wirtschaftsprüfung) and working with Wirtschaftsprüfer.
• Experience reconciling US GAAP and German accounting for consolidation.
• Ability to explain accounting concepts to upper management in German and English.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and year-end close for the German entity with standard journal entries.
• Manage intercompany transactions and ensure eliminations rules.
• Maintain documentation for external auditors to evaluate reasonableness.
• Review supporting documentation before posting to GL.
