Job summary

Jeppesen ForeFlight is seeking a detail-oriented General Ledger Accountant to support our German entity's month-end close, statutory reporting, and reconciliations. You will prepare accruals, perform reconciliations, and ensure books comply with German GAAP (HGB) and US GAAP reporting requirements.

This hands-on role requires strong technical accounting skills, fluency in German and English, and comfort in a fast-paced, scaling environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 2–4 years accounting experience in general ledger or related area.
• Fluency in German and English for statutory close and audit interactions.
• Working knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) vs US GAAP.
• Familiarity with German statutory audit requirements and Jahresabschluss process.
• Understanding of German commercial and tax law related to corporate accounting.
• Strong accrual accounting, reconciliations, and close processes.
• Proficient in Excel and large data handling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post month-end journal entries including accruals and adjustments.
• Perform account reconciliations and intercompany/vendor reconciliations.
• Support statutory compliance and Jahresabschluss preparation.
• Collaborate with outsourced partners, tax advisors, and finance teams.
• Assist with reporting, analysis, and process improvements.
