Job summary

Jack Wolfskin Retail GmbH in Gdynia, Poland, seeks a Senior General Ledger Accountant to manage General Ledger for assigned entities and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings. You will ensure IFRS/compliance and collaborate across Finance, Tax and Operations.

The role offers hybrid working options, with 5+ years of accounting experience, strong Excel and ERP skills, and fluency in English. German or other EU languages are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in an international company or SSC/BPO.
• Strong knowledge of GL and Record-to-Report processes.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Strong Excel and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of IFRS.
• Fluent English (German or other EU languages are a plus).

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain General Ledger accounting for assigned entities.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, deferrals, and adjustments.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Manage intercompany reconciliations and settlements.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, and internal controls.
• Collaborate with Finance, Tax, Controlling, and operational stakeholders.
• Support internal and external audit processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation.
• Contribute to best‑practice development within the Finance function.
