Job summary

Reed Recruitment Poland is seeking a Financial Accountant (m/f/d) for a fixed-term contract in Wrocław, Poland. You will own local financial processes, work with the Shared Services Centre, and liaise with German auditors and tax advisors.

Qualifications

• Qualified tax professional or finance degree as required; 5+ years in international/shared services context.
• Fluent in German and English, with strong tax knowledge for Germany.
• ERP proficiency in SAP systems and advanced MS Office skills.
• Experience with audits and statutory disclosures in a cross-border setup.
• Independent, proactive problem-solver able to communicate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly IFRS management accounts and reconcile balance sheet items.
• Coordinate tax filings and VAT returns, support statutory disclosures.
• Assist with annual financial statements and external audits.
• Collaborate with Shared Services Centre on intercompany processes.
• Analyse payroll-related costs and KPI reporting for management.

Are you a skilled finance professional with a deep understanding of German accounting standards and tax regulations? Do you want to bring your expertise to a premier global strategy consulting firm?

We are looking for a Financial Accountant (m/f/d) to support our German clients' business operations on a fixed-term contract (18–24 months) covering parental leave. Based in our client's Wrocław office, you will take full ownership of our local financial processes, work closely with our local Shared Services Centre, and act as a key collaborator for external auditors and tax advisors in Germany.

What You’ll Do:

• Financial Management: Prepare monthly IFRS management accounts for the German business, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and prepare accruals/prepayments.
• Tax & Compliance: Coordinate tax filings, statutory financial statement disclosures, submit local VAT returns, and handle reporting to the German Federal Bank (Deutsche Bundesbank).
• Audit Support: Assist in preparing annual financial statements and support tax, social security, and external audits.
• Cross-Border Collaboration: Partner with our Accounts Payable team in the Shared Services Centre to resolve travel expense and time-recording queries for the Munich office.
• Process Insights: Analyse and document the tax treatment of employee benefits and payroll-related expenses, while preparing critical KPIs.

What We Are Looking For:

• Background: Qualification as a Certified Tax Clerk (Steuerfachangestellte/r), a Financial Accountant certification, or a university degree in Accounting/Finance.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on accounting experience within an international business or shared services environment.
• Technical Mastery: Strong, up-to-date knowledge of German tax regulations. Proficiency in ERP systems (such as SAP Business ByDesign and SAP Concur) and advanced Excel/PowerPoint skills are required.
• Languages: Business-level fluency in both German and English (written and spoken) is essential.
• Mindset: An independent, proactive problem-solver who is comfortable communicating with stakeholders across all levels of a dynamic corporate structure.
