Job summary

Pharmavise Consulting Corp. is seeking a Gene Therapy Expert for a Remote position with full-time and per diem scheduling. The role focuses on leading gene therapy R&D from discovery through clinical development, collaborating across research, regulatory, and clinical teams.

The candidate will design and optimize vectors, stay current with regulatory requirements (FDA/EMA), and mentor junior staff. A PhD and 5+ years in the field are required; flexible scheduling is offered for per diem work.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent degree in molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of gene therapy R&D experience.
• Expertise in gene therapy vector design, optimization, and characterization.
• Experience with gene editing technologies (CRISPR/Cas9) and viral vectors (AAV, lentivirus).
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA, EMA).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; team-oriented.
• Leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to gene therapy R&D from discovery to clinical development.
• Design experiments to optimize vectors, transgene expression, and delivery.
• Develop strategies for vector design, manufacturing, and scalability.
• Collaborate with research, preclinical, clinical, and regulatory teams.
• Stay abreast of technologies and regulatory requirements in gene therapy.
• Support regulatory submissions (INDs, BLAs, orphan drug apps).
• Mentor junior staff and collaborators.
