Job summary

EPAM Systems in Wrocław is seeking a Senior Full-stack Developer to build a new product using Python and FastAPI for the backend, React/TypeScript for the frontend, and PostgreSQL and OpenSearch for data management.

You will own product features, design APIs, optimize high-load queries, support frontend work, and collaborate across a startup-like hybrid team while navigating ambiguity in a multi-cloud environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production experience with Python, FastAPI, and SQL.
• Strong expertise in web app development, API design, and integrations.
• Experience with high-load databases and query optimization.
• Frontend exposure with TypeScript and React; willing to full-stack.
• GenAI tooling experience, Claude Code preferred.
• Excellent communication and proactive mindset; work solo or in a team.
• Able to navigate ambiguity in a fast-moving startup setting.
• English proficiency at B2+ level.

Job description

We're seeking a Senior Full-stack Developer to help build a new product using Python and FastAPI for the backend, React/TypeScript for the frontend, and PostgreSQL and OpenSearch for database management.

The product runs in a multi-cloud environment and relies heavily on Databricks.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain web applications with Python/FastAPI and SQL
• Design APIs and integrations that handle high-load database operations
• Improve query performance across production systems
• Support front-end development efforts using TypeScript and React
• Use GenAI engineering tools to enhance development workflows
• Work both collaboratively with the team and independently on assigned tasks
• Maintain proactive communication with team members and stakeholders
• Own product features and contribute meaningfully beyond simply completing tickets
• Handle ambiguity and deliver results within a fast-paced startup setting

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on production experience with Python, FastAPI, and SQL
• Strong expertise in web application development, API design, and integrations
• Skilled in managing high-load databases and optimizing query performance
• Some front-end experience with TypeScript and React, along with openness to full-stack work
• Practical experience using GenAI engineering tools, Claude Code preferred
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset, comfortable working solo or as part of a team
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and make progress independently in a transparent, fast-moving startup setting
• English fluency at B2 level or above

Nice to have

• Strong background in TypeScript, React, Next.js, Storybook, Playwright, Radix UI, and Zustand
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and OpenSearch
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, Infrastructure as Code, and related tooling
• Experience in data engineering, particularly working with PySpark and Spark SQL
• Prior experience working directly with clients
