Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior Full-stack Developer to deliver Python/FastAPI services and React/TypeScript UI at scale in a multi-cloud environment. You will work with PostgreSQL, OpenSearch and Databricks, optimize performance, design APIs and own features across the stack.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production experience with Python, FastAPI and SQL.
• Strong API design and third-party integration skills.
• Experience tuning high-load databases.
• Frontend knowledge: TypeScript and React; willing to contribute across stack.
• GenAI tools experience, ideally Claude Code.
• Excellent communication and proactive, self-directed.

We are building a new multi-cloud product and need a Senior Full-stack Developer to deliver Python/FastAPI services and React/TypeScript UI at scale. You will work with PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, and Databricks, improving performance and integrations across the stack.

Responsibilities

• Build and support web applications using Python/FastAPI and SQL
• Design APIs and integrations that can handle high-load database operations
• Tune and optimize query performance across production environments
• Implement front-end features with TypeScript and React
• Leverage GenAI engineering tools to enhance development workflows
• Coordinate with the team while independently delivering assigned work
• Communicate early and often with teammates and stakeholders
• Own product features and contribute beyond simply completing tickets
• Operate effectively in ambiguity and ship results in a fast-paced startup environment

Requirements

• Proven track record with 5+ years of production work using Python, FastAPI, and SQL
• Strong expertise in web application engineering, API design, and third-party integrations
• Hands-on experience operating high-load databases and tuning query performance
• Working knowledge of TypeScript and React with readiness to contribute across front end and back end
• Practical experience with GenAI engineering tools, ideally Claude Code
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset, able to collaborate and self-direct
• Demonstrated ability to execute amid ambiguity without constant guidance in a transparent, fast-moving startup environment
• English proficiency at B2 (Upper-Intermediate) level or higher

Nice to have

• Strong exposure to TypeScript, React, Next.js, Storybook, Playwright, Radix UI, and Zustand
• Experience working with PostgreSQL and OpenSearch
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, Infrastructure as Code, and related tooling
• Data engineering background, including PySpark and SparkSQL
• Client-facing experience
