Overview

Shiji Group provides software solutions and services for the hospitality, food service, retail and entertainment industries. The role involves developing a part of a distributed system for the hospitality industry, enabling hotel employees or managers to handle reservations, payments and hotel services within and between hotels. The system comprises domain-oriented microservices developed by cross-functional teams. We work in iterations with refinements, plannings and retrospective meetings, use Gitlab for version control, and create feature branches for each user story. We commit daily and use CI/CD with Gitlab. Local development and deployment use Docker and Docker Compose. Collaboration with UI/UX and sharing work via internal NPM packages and design systems is encouraged.

Technologies we use include the React ecosystem and Ember, SASS, Web Components, TypeScript, Jest/Testing Library/Enzyme/QUnit, Webpack, Babel, Gitlab, Docker, and design patterns with SOLID principles.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Developing and maintaining software features based on visual mockups and UX descriptions
• Writing tests
• Delivering high-quality, functional and performant code
• Applying SOLID principles, best practices, and design patterns in software development
• Contributing to the infrastructure the team leverages for development
• Code reviews

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as JavaScript or Front-End Developer
• Advanced understanding of JavaScript ES6/TypeScript
• General awareness of web application performance best practices
• Experience with JavaScript-based build systems (e.g., Babel, Webpack)
• Experience with React and React Hooks
• Experience with additional Front-End technologies is a plus
• Interest in testing, code quality and reviews
• Good knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, SASS, Jest/Enzyme, Web Components
• Ember experience is a plus

Location and Work Arrangements

Please note: candidates should be based in the Silesia region (office in Katowice) and be present in the office at least 4 times per month. Fully remote work is not an option, and applications from distant locations will not be considered.
