Job summary

AXA XL in Wrocław, Poland, seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to manage accounting transactions for Tech & AI, support monthly closes and budgeting, and analyse project spend. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and report to the Head of Financial Operations & Projects.

The role emphasizes data-driven insights, process improvement, and strong stakeholder communication in a dynamic insurance finance environment.

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Fluent in English (C1) and able to support internal stakeholders.
• Self-starter with good organizational skills, able to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• Resilient and adaptable to changing priorities and demanding circumstances.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel) and general ledger systems (SAP).
• ACCA/CIMA/CPA qualification or in progress is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain accounting transactions for Tech & AI functions, understanding cost base and drivers.
• Contribute to monthly and quarterly financial close in line with Group policies.
• Support annual operating expense budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting with variance insights.
• Support financial analysis of project portfolio, tracking spend vs budget and forecasting.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate financial data for business cases and projects.
• Prepare monthly project financials reports for key stakeholders.
• Develop reporting and analytics to track transactions and support decisions.
• Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems to increase efficiency and savings.
• Build strong relationships with Finance Business Partners, project teams and Group/Corporate Finance.

What you'll be DOING

What will your essential responsibilities include?

• Manage and maintain accounting transactions for the Tech & AI functions, ensuring a solid understanding of the cost base and expense drivers.
• Contribute to monthly and quarterly Financial Close processes, ensuring full compliance with Group accounting policies (i.e. depreciation, prepaids, lease accounting, intercompany transactions).
• Support the annual Operating Expense budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting processes, providing insight into variances and expenses.
• Support the financial analysis of the project portfolio,including tracking spending against budget and assisting in forecasting.
• Collaborate with project teamsto make sure financial data for business cases and ongoing project management is accurate and complete.
• Contribute to the preparation of monthly reports on project financialsfor key stakeholders.
• Develop reporting and analytics to track accounting transactions and support decision-making.
• Drive aContinuous Improvement mindsetby reviewing and evaluating accounting processes and systems to increase efficiency and drive savings.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including Finance Business Partners, project teams, and Group/Corporate Finance, to make sure effective collaboration.
• Gain an understanding of the operational responsibilities of the Tech & AI functions to better support their strategic objectives.

What you will BRING

We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

Required Skills and Abilities:

• University degree in Finance or Accounting, with experience in a Financial Services or Insurance environment.
• Compelling analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret data, solve problems, and a meticulous eye for detail.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with fluency in English (C1) and experience supporting internal stakeholders.
• A self-starter with strong organizational skills, able to take ownership, manage priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
• A resilient and adaptable style, comfortable with changing priorities and demanding circumstances.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (especially Excel) and general ledger systems (preferably SAP).
• An ACCA/CIMA/CPA qualification (or being in the process of obtaining one) is a plus.
