At SimCorp, we support some of the largest financial institutions in the world to be successful by simplifying their investments, accounting, and operations.
Combining the strength of our existing Investment Management solutions with the use of modern technology based on Microsoft Azure, SimCorp is successfully moving our business model towards being a SaaS provider. During this transformation, it is important for us to find the right balance between building new cloud-based components in a cost-efficient way and taking advantage of our strong existing software products.
This job is a great opportunity to be part of our technology transformation and to expand our teams in Derivatives Operations area of Investment Operations. As an Engineering Manager, you will be referring to the Director of Engineering based in Europe. You will take responsibility for building up and leading two agile software development teams and establishing efficient development processes together with experienced teams across Europe, Ukraine and India.
What You Will Be Responsible For
- Building up, leading, and growing two agile teams of highly skilled Software Engineers within the Investment Operations / Derivatives Operations area, including the responsibility for staffing and team development.
- Working closely with Product Management to understand and refine the customer outcomes that you and your teams are responsible for delivering.
- Leading the day-to-day work of the scrum teams and having responsibility for both the short-term business deliverables and the long-term improvements.
- Enabling the team to deliver according to expectations, create transparency in delivery progress, identify potential delivery risks and come up with measures to mitigate risks.
- Collaborating with other engineering leaders on improvements within the product area, such as product quality, security, delivery, system performance, etc...
- Providing input on the strategic direction of the product area.
What We Value
- You are a passionate leader with 4+ years of experience in leading software engineers and are able to guide and grow employees by setting clear directions and goals.
- You take pride in delivering sound software solutions to clients.
- Hands‑on experience as a software engineer in an international operating organization is a plus.
- You have a good understanding of core engineering practices such as testing methodologies, coding, CI/CD, security, and architecture, and you can comprehend the work your teams are doing on a daily basis.
- You build a collaborative and open culture and use your excellent communication skills in English to build up a network across SimCorp with colleagues and peers inside and outside of India.
- You work effectively across a large, international organization and at various levels.
- Solid understanding of the fintech industry, specifically with investment management, financial instruments, and investment operations areas.
- Experience with Agile Ways of working in software development.
