Job summary

Global Maritime is seeking a Senior Engineer – Electrical to lead marine electrical analyses and project delivery. You will mentor junior engineers, represent the company on site and at shipyards, and assist with client relationships and tender preparation.

The role requires a strong background in marine electrical design, experience with classification standards, and willingness to travel to shipyards. English and Polish fluency are required, with an engineering degree or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Experience with DNV, LR, BV and ship installations.
• Ability to lead small teams while staying hands‑on.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects with 1–5 engineers, providing leadership and hands‑on engineering support.
• Prepare complete ship installation documentation in line with class standards.
• Develop material lists for cables, breakers, junction boxes, trays and glands.
• Select electrical equipment tailored to client needs.
• Supervise shipyard construction phases and support vessel delivery.
• Provide expert consultancy across diverse electrical engineering challenges.
• Mentor and oversee junior engineers and review others' work.
• Assist in marketing and preparing proposals for new work.
• Deliver services across Global Maritime’s business streams as workload demands.

Job Title: Senior Engineer – Electrical

Grade: 3P

Department: Engineering & Software

Responsible to: Manager Engineering and Software

Purpose

To competently deliver electrical engineering analyses, consultancy and marine project delivery, taking the lead on engineering tasks and mentoring junior engineers. Represent Global Maritime when attending on‑site and at shipyards. Assist with the maintenance of client relationships, business development and tender preparation.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage projects with 1–5 engineers, providing both leadership and hands‑on engineering support
• Prepare complete ship installation documentation (single‑line diagrams, block diagrams and detailed termination drawings) in line with DNV, LR, BV and other classification society standards
• Develop material lists for cables, breakers, junction boxes, trays and glands
• Select electrical equipment tailored to client needs
• Supervise shipyard construction phases and support vessel delivery
• Provide expert consultancy across diverse electrical engineering challenges
• Participate in the training, mentoring and oversight of the work of others
• Assist with the review and quality assurance of the work of others
• Assist in the marketing of Global Maritime and the preparation of proposals for new work
• Assist with the delivery of services across Global Maritime’s business streams as workload demands

Specific Skills, Knowledge and Experience required

• Strong background in marine electrical engineering and design, with a minimum of 8 years’ related industry experience
• Experience with classification society standards (DNV, LR, BV) and ship installations
• Ability to lead small teams while remaining hands‑on
• Strong communication skills for working with clients and shipyards
• Willingness to travel for yard supervision
• Fluency in English and Polish is required for this position
• MEng / MSc (or Bachelor with equivalent experience)
