Job summary

GitLab is hiring an Assigned Support Engineer to act as a trusted technical advisor for our largest Self-managed, GitLab Dedicated, and GitLab.com customers. You’ll combine Linux systems expertise, GitLab/CI/CD knowledge, and proactive support to understand environments, prevent issues, and solve complex challenges.

In this role you’ll monitor incidents, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to knowledge content.

Qualifications

• Background managing complex, customer facing support cases end to end.
• Advanced troubleshooting across applications, infrastructure, and integrations.
• Strong Linux systems administration knowledge (LFCE or RHCE equivalent).
• Practical experience with GitLab and CI/CD, including deployment models and outages.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to our largest Self-managed, GitLab Dedicated, and GitLab.com customers, ensuring their environments stay stable.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues using Zendesk, logs, and Linux utilities such as strace.
• Build proactive relationships with customer stakeholders to prioritize blockers.
• Collaborate with Product, Development, Infrastructure, and Sales to drive fixes and influence roadmap.
• Advise customers on incidents and how to mitigate workflow impact.
• Create and improve reusable knowledge articles and runbooks.
