Job summary

EY GDS Poland is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and build modern data platforms using Databricks. You’ll work on international projects across Azure, AWS and Google Cloud, delivering scalable data pipelines and robust data warehousing solutions.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensure high-quality, cost-efficient data solutions, and apply DevOps/CI/CD practices to product delivery. Fluency in English is required.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of experience in data engineering, including 3 years with big data.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Solid background in data warehousing, data pipelines, distributed data processing, software engineering and data modeling.
• Experience with structured, semi-structured and unstructured data.
• Experience with at least one public cloud: Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Strong design skills for relational databases and non-relational storage.
• Good understanding of data marts, data warehouses, data lakes and data mesh.
• Experience with Agile methods (Scrum, Kanban), DevOps and CI/CD principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in big data environments.
• Very good English, spoken and written.

• Knowledge of data formats such as Parquet, ORC and Avro, and table formats such as Delta Lake, Apache Hudi or Apache Iceberg
• Experience with AI agents, such as building agentic workflows or using large language models (LLMs) in data solutions
