Job summary

Ciklum is seeking a Data Engineering Expert to join our Poland-based team full-time. You will work in a cross-functional group delivering BI solutions, data models, and ETL pipelines using Azure technologies.

3+ years BI/ETL experience, strong SQL/DAX, and expertise with ADLS and Parquet optimization are essential. Excellent communication and collaboration with stakeholders are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience developing BI solutions with Power BI
• Proficient in Power BI Desktop and Service; report/dashboard creation, data transformations, and DAX
• Strong DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for complex calculations
• Experience with Power Query for data transformations and ETL processes
• Solid understanding of data modeling principles
• 3+ years experience coding in SQL (Azure SQL DB or MSSQL)
• Proven experience building and optimizing ETL pipelines
• Strong experience with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) and Parquet optimization
• Experience writing and optimizing code within Azure Synapse notebooks
• 2+ years contributing to production deployments of large backend data processing systems
• Experience in data integration and ETL processes
• Proficient with Azure Data Services (ADF, Synapse Analytics)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to present complex data clearly
• Experience with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices
• Knowledge of data quality testing, automation, and results visualization
• Familiarity with development life cycle and Agile SCRUM practices
• Experience designing and defending designs for components in large distributed systems
• Track record of delivering high-quality software on large projects
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work independently

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and deploying Power BI solutions with advanced analytics and dashboards
• Data models design and implementation
• Optimize reports and dashboards for performance via query speed improvements and data model design
• Manage ETL across multiple data storages and complex pipelines
• Performance tuning of SQL and DAX queries
• Develop, execute, and maintain data processing workflows using Azure Synapse notebooks
• Manage and optimize data storage in ADLS with Parquet file techniques
• Identify gaps and improve platform quality, robustness, and speed
• Cross-train team members and continuously learn new technologies
• Contribute to unit activities and community engagements
