Job summary

Ciklum is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team in Poland. The role focuses on building and maintaining mission-critical analytics solutions at scale, involving data ingestion, streaming, and batch processing across multiple storages.

You will work with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions. Ideal candidates have extensive experience with SQL, Python, C#, cloud platforms, and big data tools, plus strong CS fundamentals and Scrum experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience coding in SQL, C#, Python with strong CS fundamentals.
• 3+ years contributing to production deployments of large backend data processing systems as a team lead.
• 2+ years hands-on with Hadoop, Map Reduce, Pig, Hive, Impala, Spark, Kafka, Storm, SQL/NoSQL data warehouses.
• 3+ years of cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Knowledge of SQL and MPP databases (_vertica, nettezza, greenplum, astr data).
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices for the full software lifecycle.
• Knowledge of Data Warehousing design and optimization.
• Knowledge of Data Quality testing, automation and visualization.
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake; BI reports and dashboards (PowerBI, Tableau).
• Experience in Agile software development, e.g. Scrum.

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and maintain analytics solutions that scale with data volumes.
• Develop data ingestion, real-time streaming, batch processing, ETL across storages.
• Own components of infrastructure; drive quality, performance, and reliability improvements.
• Cross-train teammates and learn new technologies.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and data scientists to support use-cases.
• Participate in end-to-end DevOps activities for solutions.
• Engage with business stakeholders to ensure alignment with requirements.
• Contribute to unit activities, communities, conferences, and internal knowledge sharing.
• Assist in sales meetings and digital services when needed.
