Job summary

WP Engine is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Poland to shape the data platform that powers Finance, BI, and analytics. You will own the dbt models, orchestrate pipelines in Python/Go, and ensure data quality across revenue and subscription datasets.

You will collaborate with Finance system owners, analysts, and product teams across time zones, applying best practices, CI/CD, and AI-assisted tooling to move fast while maintaining accuracy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering or analytics engineering with end-to-end data assets.
• Strong dbt experience including models, tests, and documentation.
• Expert SQL for large datasets, with debugging and optimization.
• Deep data modeling knowledge for warehouse design and grain choices.
• Production ETL/ELT pipelines in Python; cloud data platforms know-how.
• Hands-on BigQuery and Google Cloud Platform experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve the Unified Analytics Model (UAM) dbt layer for financial data.
• Build and optimize end-to-end data pipelines into BigQuery on GCP.
• Lead multi-sprint data initiatives and coordinate with Finance and BI teams.
• Monitor pipelines, diagnose root causes, and implement durable fixes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate reporting needs into data solutions.
• Ensure data lineage, quality, and metadata are well documented.
• Review code, mentor engineers, and enforce testing and standards.
• Apply Claude Code and AI tools judiciously to improve efficiency.
