Job summary

WP Engine is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team. You will own the design, build, and evolution of dbt models within the Unified Analytics Model (UAM), turning raw billing and financial data into trusted assets for Finance, BI, and the broader business.

You will write complex SQL, build ETL/ELT pipelines on Kubernetes-based platforms, and ensure data quality through reconciliation and observability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering.
• Proven production experience with dbt models, tests, and macros.
• Expert SQL skills and data modeling expertise.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines in Python or Go.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve dbt models within the Unified Analytics Model (UAM).
• Write and optimize complex SQL for transformation, validation and reconciliation.
• Maintain end-to-end data pipelines into BigQuery on Google Cloud Platform.
• Lead multi-sprint data initiatives and collaborate with Finance, BI and analytics teams.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and best practices in data engineering.
