Job summary

Sii Poland is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our data engineering team in Katowice, Poland. You will build and maintain robust data pipelines on Azure Databricks, helping define trusted data models for clients and collaborating with analytics, science, and product teams.

You will design scalable lakehouse architectures, establish best practices in data engineering, and mentor junior engineers while focusing on performance, security, and cost optimization across the data platform.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in data engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Spark, Databricks, Snowflake, dbt and Python.
• Experience with Delta Lake, Iceberg, or HDFS storage systems.
• Proven ability to lead complex data projects and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Experience in technical leadership and mentoring team members.
• English at C1 level; willing to visit Krakow office once a month.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced data pipelines in the Azure Databricks environment.
• Create scalable data architecture using lakehouse technologies.
• Define standards and best practices in Data Engineering.
• Collaborate with Data Analytics, Data Science, and Product teams to deliver solutions.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and provide technical support to the team.
• Optimize performance, reliability, security, and cost of the data platform.
