VOLKSWAGEN FINANCIAL SERVICES POLSKA SPÓŁKA Z OGRANICZONĄ ODPOWIEDZIALNOŚCIĄ invites you to join our European Data & Analytics HUB in Warsaw as a Data Engineer. You will develop and operate productive microservices based APIs and contribute to data products used across VWFS units.

You will work in a hybrid model at our modern office on Rondo ONZ 1, collaborate across teams, and implement automated data quality and ingestion pipelines while aligning with SAFe-like agile practices and Jira

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/SE or related field.
• Proficiency in Python and AWS.
• Experience with APIs, microservices, and data pipelines.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, build tools, and IaC.
• Strong MySQL/data modeling skills.
• Familiarity with monitoring (Datadog) and CI/CD toolchains (Git, Concourse).
• Experience in agile environments (SAFe) and Jira.

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate productive microservices based API system.
• Manage standard support processes using ITSM tools.
• Develop and execute automated data quality processes across vehicle data sources.
• Continuously improve data upload pipelines.
• Advise internal customers on data-driven process design.
• Ensure data products run reliably in production.
• Advance agile practices in Data Foundation with process improvements.
• Perform on-call duties (up to 12 days/year).

Job description

Nasze wymagania:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Strong proficiency in Python and AWS services
• Development of APIs and microservices
• Building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines
• Database technologies, Data modeling and schema design (ideally MySQL)
• Experience with continuous delivery toolchains, automated testing, build tools, and CI/CD workflows (e.g., Git, Concourse)
• Experience with monitoring solutions (e.g., Datadog)
• Handling structured, semi-structured (e.g., JSON, Parquet), and unstructured data
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Experience with Containerization and Orchestration (Docker, ECS/EKS)
• Experience and strong interest in the automotive market and vehicle technology
• Knowledge transfer and documentation skills
• Team player
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively under pressure
• Practical experience in agile work environments (preferably based on SAFe) using tools such as Jira
• Excellent English and Polish language skills (C1 level)
• High level of customer focus, demonstrated on several occasions

This strategic initiative is created to enable the change of Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS) to a data-driven company. Our goal is to empower all VWFS business units to use data effectively, efficiently and compliantly in their business decisions.

D&A originally has been set up as central HQ function located in Germany. To strengthen D&A’s international profile and to cope with the increasing demand for D&A’s services, the European D&A Hub has recently been established in Warsaw, Poland. The teams in both locations work closely aligned to deliver outstanding data products and services for international data use cases at VWFS group.

Data Foundation — About:

The Data Foundation team makes the company’s data available, and thus builds the groundwork for the efficient use of data by all business units at VWFS. We want to make accessing data feel like shopping at a market: everything in one place, easy to find, and in reliable quality. We cover the entire process from initial data requirements to reliable integrated data provisioning for analytical, administrative, and operational purposes.

Data Engineering is the main activity at Data Foundation. Each Data Engineer ensures that data requirements have been properly defined and efficient and effective data products have been created to fulfill these requirements reliably on a day-to-day basis. One of the teams working in the Data Foundation is the Vehicle Data API Team (VDA). Its works concentrate on a common VWFS interface used to make vehicle information accessible to the entire VWFS group.

Zakres obowiązków:

• Development and Operation of productive microservices based API system
• Management of standard support processes (Incident, Service Request, Problem Management, Bug Handling, etc.) using DWS and ITSM
• Developing and executing automated data quality processes across all vehicle data sources
• Continuous improvement of data upload pipelines
• Advise our internal customers on the design of efficient data-driven processes
• Ensure that your data products run reliably and efficiently in production
• Advance the agile way of working at Data Foundation with your ideas for process improvements
• Perform on-call duties where required (on up to 12 days per year)
