Job summary

You will apply statistical data analysis, machine learning, and networking knowledge to diagnose performance bottlenecks and improve reliability across Akamai's distributed edge platform. Collaborate with Engineering, Operations and Product teams to adopt new features, build diagnostic tools, and mine internal data feeds to generate insights that guide technology investments and enhance

Qualifications

• Academic or industrial experience and PhD or master's degree in computer science or another quantitative field.
• Analytical background with experience in statistical data analysis.
• Experience with Python or C/C++.

Responsibilities

• Applying analytical skills and statistical insights to identify performance bottlenecks and reliability challenges and propose solutions.
• Developing new tools to diagnose problems faster and in a more independent manner.
• Defining, implementing and mining data feeds drawn from Akamai internal sources in order to produce insights.
• Influencing company decision-making at the highest levels and identifying areas for new technology investments.
• Partnering with Engineering, Operations and Product teams to help guide adoption of new features and processes.
• Building software tools and systems to automate analytical tasks and workflows to increase efficiency and reliability.
