Job summary

McKinsey Knowledge Center Poland Sp. z o.o. in Wroclaw seeks a Senior Cost Engineer to optimize power and electrical systems within its Product Development and Procurement team. You will blend power engineering with cost engineering to drive value through target costing and Design-to-Value work.

You will analyze cost drivers, collaborate across engineering disciplines, and help clients improve competitiveness and installation cost performance. Fluent English is essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years in electrical/power systems and cost engineering.
• CAPEX optimization across design, sourcing, and installation.
• Experience with power cables, switchgear, transformers and related processes.
• Fluent English, strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as knowledge consultant in product development and cost engineering projects.
• Develop concrete cost improvement opportunities in value engineering and target costing.
• Disassemble and redesign products to identify cost and manufacturability levers.
• Collaborate with teams to turn technical insights into practical actions.
• Contribute to internal knowledge, tools, and methodologies.
