Job summary

Nordea's Group Technology in Warsaw seeks a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer with deep AWS experience to own our AWS Landing Zone. This hands-on role builds new capabilities and keeps the platform healthy, secure, and reliable.

You'll work with Terraform, Ansible, Python and Bash; design multi-account networking, Direct Connect, and zero-trust access; build CI/CD pipelines and governance controls for a banking-grade cloud platform.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on cloud engineering with strong, current AWS experience at enterprise scale.
• Practical experience designing and running an AWS Landing Zone, ideally using Control Tower or Landing Zone Accelerator.
• Strong command of Terraform for infrastructure as code, and solid Ansible skills for configuration and automation.
• Good programming ability in Python and Bash.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines.
• Deep understanding of AWS networking: VPC design, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, and on‑prem connectivity with zero trust in mind.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Landing Zone infrastructure as code with Terraform and Ansible.
• Create central, reusable Landing Zone solutions for rapid application adoption.
• Design and run CI/CD pipelines for Landing Zone changes with automated tests.
• Review pull requests and contribute to architecture documentation.
• Identify and close gaps in automation to reduce manual work.
• Design networking foundation for multi-account setup: VPCs, subnets, security groups, Transit Gateway.
• Build and operate hybrid connectivity between AWS and on‑prem with Direct Connect and VPN.
• Apply zero-trust principles to access, IAM policies, and network segmentation.
• Establish governance guardrails (Control Tower, Landing Zone Accelerator) for banking security compliance.
• Develop platform observability dashboards for rapid issue detection and response.
• Lead incident response for P1/P2, perform root cause analysis, and improve procedures.
