Job summary

Nordea in Poland is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to own and evolve its AWS Landing Zone. This hands-on role focuses on building new capabilities, maintaining security, and ensuring reliability for enterprise-scale cloud platforms within the bank.

You will implement infrastructure as code with Terraform, automate with Ansible and Python, and design a multi-account network. You’ll also drive CI/CD for platform changes, foster a DevOps culture, and apply zero-trust access controls

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on cloud engineering with strong AWS experience at enterprise scale.
• Experience designing and running an AWS Landing Zone, ideally using Control Tower or Landing Zone Accelerator.
• Strong Terraform for IaC and Ansible for automation.
• Good programming ability in Python and Bash.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid AWS networking knowledge: VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, and on‑prem connections.
• Understanding of zero-trust access design and governance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the AWS Landing Zone features and the platform.
• Implement infrastructure as code with Terraform; manage config with Ansible; automate provisioning with Python/Bash.
• Create central reusable Landing Zone solutions to ease adoption by app teams.
• Design and run CI/CD pipelines for Landing Zone changes with automated testing.
• Contribute to architecture docs and code reviews to ensure clear platform reasoning.
• Close automation gaps to avoid repetitive manual work.
• Design networking across multi-account setup: VPCs, subnets, SGs, route tables, TGW.
• Build and operate hybrid connectivity (Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPN).
• Apply zero-trust principles to access, using IAM and SCPs, with network segmentation.
• Establish governance guardrails and best practices (Control Tower, policies).
• Develop observability dashboards and monitoring for the platform.
• Lead P1/P2 incident response, RCAs, and post-incident improvements.
