Job summary

GEDON™ | Precision Search for Complex Construction is seeking a senior civil project manager to own delivery of major earthworks, drainage, foundations and concrete works on large-scale European packages. You’ll run mobilisation, planning, construction and handover with autonomy while reporting to an engaged leadership team.

You will lead multi-disciplinary site teams, manage commercial performance and coordinate with main contractors, designers and client representatives.

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience delivering civil engineering projects in subcontractor environments.
• Strong technical background in earthworks, drainage, foundations, concrete works.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing multi-disciplinary site teams on large, complex sites.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of major civil engineering and groundworks packages from mobilisation through to completion and handover.
• Take full responsibility for package programme, resourcing, plant and supply chain to meet main contractor milestones.
• Own commercial performance, including cost control, forecasting, change management and package profitability.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour across earthworks, drainage, foundations and concrete works.
• Act as the senior point of contact for main contractor teams, designers and client representatives.
• Drive the highest standards of health & safety, quality and environmental performance across all site activities.
• Lead, develop and mentor site teams including project engineers, supervisors and foremen.
• Contribute to planning, methodology and pricing input for future packages and tenders.

Our client is an established civil engineering subcontractor, delivering specialist infrastructure and groundworks packages on large-scale construction and industrial developments across Europe. They work in close partnership with major main contractors, taking responsibility for the civil works that underpin some of the region’s most significant projects.

The business has particular depth in earthworks, drainage, foundations, concrete works and associated infrastructure, and is regularly trusted with packages where scale, pace and quality are all critical.

With a growing order book across Europe, the business is investing in senior delivery leadership to support its expansion in Finland. This creates an opportunity for an experienced civil project manager to take ownership of major packages and play a central role in the company’s continued growth in the region.

You will join a capable and experienced delivery team, working at senior level with the autonomy to run your packages while being supported by an engaged leadership group. Projects involve substantial civil packages on major construction and industrial developments, typically including bulk earthworks, below-ground drainage, foundations, structural concrete and external infrastructure. These are large, multi-interface sites where effective coordination with the main contractor and other trade packages is essential to success.

As a senior figure on site, you will have end-to-end responsibility for delivery, from mobilisation and planning through construction to completion and handover. What You Need

• 8+ years’ experience delivering civil engineering projects within a subcontractor environment
• Strong technical background in earthworks, drainage, foundations, concrete works and associated infrastructure
• Proven responsibility for project delivery, programme management and commercial performance at package level
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing multi-disciplinary site teams on large, complex sites
• Exposure to major industrial or large-scale construction developments beneficial but not essential
• Understanding of European contract frameworks such as NEC or FIDIC advantageous
• Degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering or a related discipline
