Job summary

Astek in Kraków is seeking an experienced software engineer for a flight-travel platform. The project processes thousands of transactions per second across cloud servers, with C++ as the core language, and a complex business logic stack. The role offers hybrid work with three days on-site in Cracow.

You will develop, optimize and maintain high-performance software, collaborate with architects and PMs, and contribute to design decisions while staying up-to-date with new technologies.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of related experience.
• Experience in fast-paced software development in Agile environment.
• Expertise in advanced C++ programming and solutioning.
• Knowledge of UNIX/Linux environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good knowledge of CMake, STL, Boost libraries, MPL, OO design and design patterns.
• Knowledge of database programming.
• Proficient in English; Polish on communicative level.

Responsibilities

• Developing, coding, testing, and debugging complex software solutions and enhancements to existing products.
• Designing, implementing, and improving applications using modern technologies and best development practices.
• Analyzing complex technical challenges and selecting appropriate solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Ensuring high coding standards, code quality, maintainability, and best engineering practices.
• Collaborating with architects, product managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Providing technical guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing across development teams.
• Supporting teams in adopting new technologies, improving competencies, and following engineering standards.
• Contributing to product and business decisions by providing technical expertise and context.
• Taking ownership of technical solutions and driving continuous improvement within projects.
