Job summary

SQUAD Ukraine Limited is seeking a senior embedded software expert to lead the design, architecture, and development of highly complex software solutions for hardware platforms.

You will provide strategic direction, oversee technical roadmaps, and guide teams through challenging embedded software engineering tasks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of embedded C/C++ and Python development.
• Experience with RTOS and bare-metal microcontroller projects.
• Strong understanding of I2C, SPI, UART peripherals and protocols.
• Proficient debugging with JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Git version control and collaboration in a team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a top technical embedded systems development expert, who will lead the design, architecture, and development of highly complex software solutions. In this role you will be responssible for providing strategic direction, overseeing technical roadmaps, and guiding teams through the most challenging aspects of embedded software engineering.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Design, implement, and optimize embedded software solutions for hardware platforms, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Conduct code reviews to maintain software quality and provide mentorship to junior engineers, sharing best practices and guidance.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate and test system components, ensuring seamless hardware-software interaction.
• Identify and resolve complex bugs or system issues, ensuring the stability of embedded systems across various environments.
• Evaluate and adopt new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance development processes and improve system performance.

Qualifications and Skills

• 5+ years proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development and Python
• Strong experience working with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and bare metal development for microcontrollers.
• Deep understanding of embedded hardware, including peripherals, sensors, and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART).
• Proficiency in using debugging tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers for troubleshooting and performance tuning.
• Experience with version control systems, especially Git, for managing code and collaborating with team members.

Nice to have

• Experience with embedded Linux platforms and kernel module development.
• Familiarity with IoT technologies and integrating embedded systems with cloud platforms.
• Experience in scripting for automation tasks.
• Experience in optimizing power consumption for embedded systems in battery-operated devices.
