payabl. is expanding its engineering team and is seeking a Senior Backend Developer for the Core Gateway team. In this critical role, you will maintain and modernize a Perl-based payment gateway and lead the development of a next-generation Python microservices platform.

The ideal candidate should possess 5+ years of backend engineering experience, with a strong mastery of Python as well as flexibility in legacy systems. You'll collaborate within agile teams while ensuring high performance and scalability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with strong Python mastery.
• Experience with Perl or eagerness to learn legacy Perl code.
• Solid experience integrating third-party APIs and understanding of webhooks.
