Job summary

Tesco is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate observability capabilities for large-scale deployment across thousands of retail locations. You will work with cloud-native and edge-based components to ensure proactive issue detection and data-driven operational excellence.

Responsibilities include building telemetry pipelines, dashboards, and alerting, defining SLIs/SLOs, and enabling self-service reporting for engineering and operations teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Java development skills with Spring Framework.
• Deep knowledge of metrics, logs, traces, alerts, and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement metrics, logging, tracing, and telemetry across cloud and edge components.
• Build monitoring pipelines, dashboards, and alerting frameworks for deployment health and store operations.
• Define SLIs, SLOs, and reliability metrics for deployment services.
