Job summary

Text is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own the SSO and account services that power our billing and authentication across Text products. You will shape technical solutions, coordinate with product managers and engineers, and ship impactful features with full ownership.

You’ll drive end-to-end backend work, maintain production systems, and push for robust, scalable solutions. This role blends architecture, collaboration, and hands-on coding in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of OAuth 2.0 at the protocol level.
• Strong Go experience in production.
• Experience with MySQL.
• GCP and Kubernetes familiarity.
• Track record owning backend projects end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Own the SSO service and OAuth implementation — lead technical decisions, propose improvements, communicate trade-offs to stakeholders.
• Work on text-billing: subscriptions, usage-based pricing, payment provider integrations.
• Drive projects end-to-end: take business requirements, design the solution, coordinate dependent teams, set milestones, ship it.
• Proactively maintain your services — flag issues before they become incidents, propose fixes before they become blockers.
• Contribute to ongoing cross-company work: client migration to TextApp, ACAM role management improvements.
